Amie Goad Ceramics

Amie Goad works primarily in high fire stoneware and porcelain to create beautiful, fluid ceramic pieces for decorative and functional use in the home.  She artfully combines wheel-thrown and hand-built techniques to craft her ceramic pieces, which are inspired by organic forms found in nature and by the great Japanese master potters. Amie wishes to create pieces that evoke a meditative calm. Her art is meant to be touched, used, and enjoyed daily in the home.

Amie’s artwork can be purchased from her directly at her studio as well as in local galleries and craft shows. She will also create and sell work on a commission basis. Contact Amie at amiegoad@aol.com for retail, wholesale and commission assignments.

Expressions in Pottery

“In part, I am a potter because I see pots as having the incredible privilege of being part of people’s private everyday lives. Because of this intimacy, we let our guard down around pots, allowing them to convey ideas about aesthetics, function and social issues.

Through repeated use, pots can become habit forming and comforting, creating memory for those using the pots. They are art objects - but they are also of service.

These pots are independent of me; they are finding their own way, accumulating histories with various people in various homes, in various places around the world.”- Ayumi Horie
